Performs a variety of highly responsible and confidential administrative support services for the Human Resources Department; and provides support to the Director of Human Resources and Superintendent in HR related matters. Hours: Monday-Friday 7:30 am - 4:30 pm 12 months/ year

Minimum Qualifications & Abilities:
- High school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by business school, at least two (2) years of college and/or equivalent work experience; Associate’s Degree preferred.
- Prior experience with Human Resources department procedures and business office and accounting procedures.
- Knowledge of teacher credentialing requirements for elementary schools.
- Knowledge of qualification requirements for certificated teachers and classified instructional aides.
- Knowledge and experience working with various types of leaves, including but not limited to, FMLA and extended illness.
- Knowledge of office procedures and practices, including but not limited to filing systems, office equipment, telephone etiquette, and letter and report writing.
- Office skills to include typing with 95% accuracy, 10-key calculations, and computer systems and software.
- Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.
- Requires a professional demeanor and a high level of confidentiality.
- Ability to work effectively with administrators, staff, and others contacted during the course of business.
Essential Functions:
- Employee Onboarding and Documentation:
- Prepares all new hire forms/letters and ensures that all documentation has been forwarded to the appropriate departments.
- Responsible for the notification to employees on STAR Team & Grade Level Chair assignments.
- Compliance and Training:
- Maintains database on required training for STAR Team participants.
- Monitors compliance for long-term substitute teachers in order to ensure that the appropriate notifications have been sent per Every Student Succeeds Act.
- Provides training to new and existing staff to comply with various state laws and maintains records to verify that all employees have met the requirements for trainings, including, but not limited to Child Abuse Reporting and Sexual Harassment Training.
- Must comply with notifications as required by AB 2499.
- Participates in annual credential audits to become familiar with credentialing requirements and attends trainings that pertain to new credential requirements.
- Provides assistance to District personnel regarding HR policies and procedures, ensuring that employees have the resources needed to understand and follow guidelines.
- Employee Benefits and Support:
- Maintains knowledge of all health plan benefits in order to properly provide employees with assistance when necessary.
- Responsible for preparing and mailing all required leave notices, including, but not limited to FMLA Notices and Pregnancy Disability Leave Notices.
- Data and Record Management:
- Maintains log of GATE Teachers
- Maintains current staff databases for both certificated and classified employees, including substitute employees.
- Responsible for providing staff employment information for input into the student information system as needed for mandatory state reports, and performs audits to verify all staff information.
- Responsible for maintaining Classified Evaluation Master Schedule; sending out monthly reminders to all supervisors/administrators when classified evaluations are due, and prepares an annual report.
- Legal and Regulatory Compliance:
- Attends meetings to keep informed of new laws and regulations pertaining to Human Resources.
- Provides support to the Director of Human Resources and Superintendent with litigation, subpoenas, and legal documentation.
- Maintains information required for termination notices on employees that have exhausted their leave entitlements, and works with Director on compliance requirements.
- HR Operations and Support:
- Assists the Director of Human Resources with the creation/update of all job descriptions for both certificated and classified staff.
- Attends job fairs for recruitment of certificated and classified staff.
- Maintains a working knowledge of all Human Resources Department duties in order to step in and assist during the absence of HR staff or during periods of high workload.
- Assists in the review and monitoring of all HR functions for charter schools when applicable.
- Technology and Termination Processes:
- Responsible for the maintenance of email groups – Certificated & Classified Staff
- Distributes and maintains Internet user log and agreement forms and notifies the Technology Department when staff has terminated employment.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Superintendent or designee.
