BASIC FUNCTION Under the general direction of the Coordinator of Food Services, plan, coordinate and supervise the child nutrition operations. Including development and implementation of standardized recipes; assist in assuring quality and cost control; assist in training employees; train and provide work direction to assigned staff on program compliance with local, State, and Federal regulations and requirements including public health and safety. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES • Plan and schedule the work assignments and activities of the district food service employees • Conduct school site monitoring reviews, including: preschool, elementary and middle school, after-school programs, supper and Saturday school • Train, counsel, evaluate, motivate, coach, and discipline assigned food service staff and provide input on employee performance status to principals on an ongoing basis • Ensure that the food service programs are in compliance with the National School breakfast/lunch, snack, supper and Saturday school requirements • Ensure all health and safety regulations are being followed and monitored • Ensure that all federally donated foods received by the District accrue only to the benefit of the district’s non-profit school food service and are fully utilized • Develop and implement recipes and menu components that align with federal meal program requirements and district wellness standards, meet budgetary and quantity production • Perform market research and conduct recipes/product demonstration and tastings with students and district staff for acceptable menu items; analyze feedback; revise as necessary • Identify opportunities for and oversee training of food services staff as it relates to food production, operation of equipment, technology and culinary skills based on learning, meal service and presentation with the goal of increased participation, profitability and meal quality • Observe kitchen operations, recommend improvements and strate
