Minimum Qualifications: • 5 years of Successful classroom experience teaching English learners • Experience in assessing student skill and knowledge • Experience in using assessment results to guide instruction • Experience working effectively with others Desired Qualifications: • Master’s degree or equivalent training in education, educational administration, or curriculum and instruction • Expertise in second language acquisition and culturally responsive pedagogy • Previous experience working effectively with culturally and linguistically diverse groups • Successful experience in areas of conflict resolution • Ability to speak a language in addition to English (Spanish preferred) • Previous experience in leadership, coaching, and teambuilding skills to strengthen and cultivate relationships Credential Requirements: Valid California Teaching Credential CLAD or other English Learner Certification Responsibilities English Learners Program Coordination • Ensures that all ELs are receiving appropriate intervention services by teachers, support staff, and ELD coordinator • Facilitates the development of grade-level ELD needs assessment and supports teachers on the first week of school to prepare for the ELPAC • Supports teachers and administrators in the implementation of county ELD standards • Organizes, develops agendas for, and facilitates ELD trainings on instructional best practices and data review • Provides classroom teachers and site administrators with data and feedback • Studies data and locates bubble and “stalled” students who are stuck at a level, and determine possible interventions • Meets regularly with teachers and at least once a month with administrators, SST Coordinators, and Special Education staff to review progress of EL students. • Stays informed about the latest ELD programs and best practices and disseminate this information to teachers • Collaborates with site administrators and teachers to ensure that
