Job Summary
This full-time position will follow the teacher calendar (Monday - Friday) of 186 days for the 2025/26 school year. The start date is 08/19/25. *Work schedule is subject to change at anytime at the District's discretion. DEFINITION Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, plan, implement, monitor, assess and teach vocal and/or instrumental music to pupils and assist in other school programs as assigned. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements / Qualifications
To apply for the position of Instrumental/Vocal Music Teacher you must meet one of the minimum requirements below: - Multiple Subject Teaching credential w/EL authorization and supplementary authorization in music OR - Single Subject Music credential w/EL authorization OR - Eligibility to apply for a Short-Term Staff Permit (STSP) with one of the following requirements: a) Bachelor's degree major in subject area (music) b) At least 18 semester units in subject area (music) c) 9 upper division units in subject area (music)
In addition to the requirements above, you must complete the EdJoin application and upload the following documents:
- Copy of Transcript (Official transcripts will be required upon employment)
- Credential Copy (Detailed document from CTC OR Verification Letter from the University stating program completion date)
- Letter of Introduction (Addressed to: Dr. David Appling)
- Letter(s) of Recommendation (3 Signed Letters Required - No more than 3)
- Resume
- Test Results/Materials (CBEST/BSR & MSAT/CSET & RICA [if applicable])

SALARY
-Salary is dependent upon Degree(s), number of semester units beyond a Bachelor's Degree, CA Credential, and previous experience;
-CERT Salary Schedule: https://www.magnoliasd.org/apps/pages/hr-salary-schedules;
-Additional salary increases are earned for longevity with MSD;
-Additional salary steps can be credited for experience for each full year of prior public school teaching experience with proof of service(s);
-Certificated staff are paid monthly on an 11-month pay schedule (August-June).
