Transitional Kindergarten (TK) Teacher Ocean Charter School (OCS) is located on the westside of sunny Los Angeles, about a mile from the Pacific Ocean. OCS implements public Waldorf Education in our TK – 8th grade program. OCS is accepting applications for the Transitional Kindergarten Lead Teacher Position. We welcome applications from teachers whose love for children combines with their ability to work well with colleagues and parents to embrace the opportunities and challenges of working in a public Waldorf environment. Ideal candidates have Waldorf teaching experience and a CA multiple subject credential and early childhood certification, but candidates interested in learning more about public Waldorf Education and those not yet complete with their CA credential are also encouraged to apply. The TK teacher role at Ocean Charter School, a Public Waldorf School, is a unique one. In being the children’s first teacher in the OCS community, the TK teacher welcomes our youngest students (3 years, 11 months old to 5 years old) and their families into our community. The TK teacher cultivates a healthy and inclusive class community in all respects – emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually - by providing circle time, storytelling, singing, movement, puppet shows, painting, beeswax modeling, drawing, crafting, baking/ cooking, and more all through the lens of healthy child development. Transitional Kindergarten (TK) Teacher

Ocean Charter School (OCS) is a Public Waldorf School using a Waldorf approach to teach common core standards in a public school setting. We are accepting applications for TK teaching positions and we welcome like-minded individuals interested in Waldorf Education to apply. The age range for Transitional Kindergarten is between four and five years of age. TK has up to twenty-four students.

 

OCS offers summer training to prepare teachers for the upcoming school year as well as additional professional development opportunities, mentoring, and a supportive working environment.

 

Qualifications for Teachers:

1. Bachelor's Degree

2. Clear Multiple Subject Teaching Credential

3. EL Authorization

4. BCLAD Authorization

5. At least 24 units of Early Childhood Education

6. Other credentials meeting ESSA "Highly-qualified" criteria

7. Waldorf Teaching Certificate (or commitment to obtain certification)

8. Experience in Waldorf Nursery or Kindergarten teaching preferred
