As a member of the Enrichment Team, the Music Teacher plays a critical role in cultivating a vibrant and supportive learning environment. Working closely with the Principal and other faculty, this position contributes to the design and implementation of engaging, developmentally appropriate music programs across a variety of grade levels. The ideal candidate will foster a student-centered classroom where independence, critical thinking, and learner agency are encouraged. Key responsibilities include curriculum development, differentiated instruction, and the integration of best practices such as the workshop model and inquiry-based learning. Through effective and age-appropriate music pedagogy, the Music Enrichment Teacher will help students build foundational skills in music theory, basic notation, and musicianship. Instruction will incorporate elements of solfeggio, Orff Schulwerk, and Dalcroze Eurhythmics, as well as hands-on experience with instruments such as drums, recorders, and xylophones. Vocal development, aural skills, improvisation, and composition will also be central to the curriculum. In addition to classroom instruction, the Music Teacher will lead and direct various choral groups and work collaboratively with fellow Fine Arts faculty to plan and execute concerts, outreach performances, and Chapel programs throughout the school year.
