
School Counselor (SEL), 1.0 FTE (Categorically-funded) at Gridley Unified School District
Requirements / Qualifications
Brief Description of Essential Duties Under the supervision of the site administrator, plans and implements a school-wide program to teach decision making, problem solving and coping skills, and implement positive behavioral intervention and support (PBIS) and multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) initiatives; provides counseling sessions individually and/or in groups to meet the needs of students; provides in-service for school staff and parents concerning communication skills, behavior management, and interpersonal relationships; works to solve health, attitude and learning problems; assist in early identification of at-risk students who demonstrate behavioral, social, and/or emotional problems; refers students, parents and staff to community agencies for additional counseling services; participates as a member of the IEP team when appropriate. Minimum Qualifications: 1. Bachelor’s Degree plus appropriate coursework to qualify for credential to provide School Counseling in public K-12 schools 2. Appropriate credential authorizing Pupil Personnel Services in School Counseling as prescribed by law or equivalent
