POSITION: K–6 Elementary Science Teacher SUPPORTED BY: Grade Level Director JOB DESCRIPTION: Carden Hall is seeking a lower grade teacher for the 2024–2025 school year (immediate hire). Preferred candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in education or similar field. Candidates must have a sincere and deep appreciation of working with children and the ability to challenge each child and focus on emphasizing the implementation of student-centered learning. This is a full-time position. Have a passion for designing and implementing Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Create a culture of positivity and high expectations within a supportive learning environment that captivates and engages students in learning. Demonstrate enthusiasm for and ability to implement claim-based and project-based learning. Implement curriculum for the entire school year, leads students through each daily lesson plan, and teaches the intended subject matter through in-depth discussions while answering any questions that students may have. Provides an engaging learning environment, encourages and promotes each student’s curiosity, and adapts teaching methods to meet each student's varying needs and interests. Assess student progress and learning objectives using multiple measures to inform instructional decision-making. Be able to differentiate instruction. Be flexible, optimistic, comfortable with change, and able to learn quickly. Be willing to contribute to the success of the team. Be comfortable with teaching to a wide variety of age groups and have an understanding of developmentally appropriate practices at different grade levels. Attend staff development days to improve your skills and receive help and feedback from colleagues. Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
