Job Summary The ideal candidate will be an experienced and accomplished middle school teacher who will teach 6th Grade Humanities, serve as an advisor, and participate in middle school activities that support the program. Classroom management and digital citizenship require close attention and instruction, and therefore experience teaching middle school is essential. Position Description: Applicants for this Humanities position will be able to teach both English and History courses. A background and interest in ancient history as well as middle grade literature is required. Qualified candidates should have at least three (3) years teaching experience, interest and experience in multi-disciplinary education, and the ability to connect with young people. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, flexible, and eager to bring innovative ideas to their curriculum. The candidate must demonstrate a natural ability and passion for collaborating with other teachers in planning and execution of courses. Job responsibilities of an Middle School Humanities Teacher and Advisor include, but are not limited to: Key Responsibilities: To co-teach one or more sections of Middle School English Language Arts and/or History To co-develop and implement engaging lesson plans that support a rigorous and differentiated curriculum To foster a positive, respectful, and innovative learning environment that encourages creativity, risk-taking, and critical thinking To teach strong reading comprehension, research, writing, and public speaking skills To conduct parent-teacher conferences twice a year, and communicate as needed with parents during the year, to share insights on student progress and collaborate on support strategies To effectively and regularly assess each student’s progress and inform the student, the parents, the academic advisor and the appropriate administrator immediately of any serious difficulty Visit sandomenico.org for more information on jo

The salary range for this 0.60 FTE position is $46,356 - $84,000 annually, commensurate with skill set and experience.
