Job Summary

A valid CA Single Subject Credential with appropriate subject area is required (Foreign Language: Spanish), along with an English Learner Authorization.

Job Description / Essential Elements:    Print   

Appropriate credential;
A major or minor in the subject area;
Demonstrated ability to teach all levels of the specific curriculum;
Willingness to collaborate in interdisciplinary instructional teams;
Familiarity with performance assessment and outcome-based education;
Knowledge of new frameworks and state content standards, instructional methods and delivery systems which provide rigor and active learning;
Ability to also teach other subject areas preferred.


Ability to teach all levels from first year to Advanced Placement;
Fluency in an additional foreign language;
Commitment to an outcome/proficiency-based approach;
Commitment to integration of modern technologies into instruction;
Knowledge of new frameworks and ACTFL national standards, instructional methods and delivery systems which provide rigor and active learning;
Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, the Total Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling (TPRS) instructional method.
