Overview: In this role, you will step into the classroom when full-time teachers are absent, ensuring that high-quality learning continues without interruption. Your primary responsibilities will include following prepared lesson plans, maintaining a safe and positive classroom environment, and managing student behavior effectively. Key Responsibilities: Maintain classroom control and foster a positive learning environment. Follow the absent teacher's lesson plans and daily schedule. Ensure student safety by supervising the classroom, hallways, and other designated areas. Leave concise notes or feedback for the returning teacher regarding student behavior and progress. Minimum Requirements: • Ability to pass a Department of Justice (DOJ) fingerprint clearance • Valid 30 day substitute permit • Completion of a Bachelor's degree • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (Note: As per the Executive Order N-3-22 , applicants with a Bachelor's degree can apply for a substitute credential, however, they still need to meet the Basic Skills requirement. Processing time is dependent on Santa Clara County and the Commission of Teaching Credentialing procedures and requirements.) Important Application Requirement: Please do not submit an application unless you hold a current, valid 30-day substitute teaching permit.
