Job Summary

Saint Lucy School and Parish has served the community for over 75 years. We are located in West Part of Long Beach serving socio-economically diverse families with all its joy and challenges. Currently we have about 135 students. We are a TK-8 school whose mission is to provide a faith-filled and caring environment in which our professional skills, personal talents, and the example of our lives will enable our students to grow in the following ways: spiritually, intellectually, socially, psychologically, physically, technologically, ecologically, and culturally. Within this environment, our mission will be to encourage the students to become confident, committed, self-disciplined, life-long developing Christians whose responsible participation in society will reflect their reverence for all life. REQUIREMENTS • Faith-filled Practicing Catholic who can be a role model • Expected to be involved and active at St Lucy Sunday masses and parish community with a heart of evangelizing parish and school families • Minimum 4 years of teaching experience OR 3 years working at a non-profit / Catholic church organization in a leadership role • Preferably earned master’s degree OR State Approved Teaching Credential • Catechetical Certification to be completed by the first two years of leadership • This leadership is an on-site and in-person position • We have 6 multi-aged or combine classes. Any experience with this setting will be valued.
