Job Summary
The Governing Board’s primary goal is to provide each student with an education of the highest quality in keeping with their capacity to learn. This goal shall be the basic factor motivating the Board’s execution of its powers and duties. The Board is responsible for the general control and direction of education in the district and is empowered to carry on and finance any program or activity that is not in conflict with, inconsistent with, or preempted by law. The powers and duties of the Board include governance, executive and judicial functions. These relate to the Board’s own operations as a governing body and to all functions of the district.

Successful candidate will need to be at least 18 years of age and a resident of District Region 5 which includes East Quincy/South of Hwy 70, Cromberg, Graeagle, Clio, Gold Mountain and Whitehawk. Please see job description that contains a map showing the areas of the District regions. This is an appointment for a vacancy and will run until the next regularly scheduled election for board members, unless a petition calling for a special election pursuant to Education Code 5091 is filed within 30 days of the provisional appointment.
