MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


Working under the direction of the Principal and in collaboration with the other Assistant Principals to supervise and lead an instructional staff of over 150 teachers with:
The implementation of California Standards providing quality work which is engaging, resulting in students learning meaningful content, and challenging every student to learn more.
Using a variety of assessment data for collaborative decision making regarding instructional effectiveness, improved student performance, and helping students develop ownership for their learning.
Supporting testing coordination of all state mandated tests.

Specific Duties Include:

 

  • Works closely with the Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment to supervise and coordinate the high school curriculum and staff development.
  • Supervises the instructional program in the departments assigned, and  assists in the evaluation and supervision of other departments.
  • Assists in developing and supports the master schedule of classes and teaching assignments.
  • Provides information to faculty and staff regarding
    developments and trends in the education field.
  • Assists in the responsibility for the articulation, planning, organizing and implementation of in-service programs for the high school.
  • Facilitates the achievement of instruction and curriculum objectives.
  • Assists in implementing the Single School Plan, WASC, Library Plan and Technology Plan.
  • Supervises school activities such as performances, dances, sports, etc.
  • Supervises assigned programs

 

 

 

Requirements / Qualifications

SELECTION PROCESS All materials related to applications must be received online through Edjoin no later than 4:00 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2025. Applications will be reviewed by a screening committee and the most qualified applicants will be invited to interview. Application screening is tentatively scheduled to take place on April 15, 2025. Initial interviews are tentatively scheduled for April 18, 2025. Second-round interview Candidates will be asked to attend a candidate reception and final interview tentatively scheduled for April 21, 2025. Selected candidates will be interviewed by a District panel which may be comprised of a cross-section of administrators, employees, students, and parents. Final candidates will be interviewed by the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, the High School Principal, and the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment.
