Job Summary

Job Summary

This position will work year-round with the Primetime Preschool and Camp Clarita programs developing and teaching age appropriate curriculum to cultivate young learners socially, emotionally, physically, and academically. Primetime Preschool is a program that serves an average of 364 children per school year, providing academic readiness, while Camp Clarita serves approximately 3,200 campers during the summer at seven park locations throughout the community. Duties and Responsibilities: • Creates academic, developmentally appropriate curriculum for Primetime Preschool during the school year • Develops age appropriate recreation activities for Camp Clarita programs during the summer • Supervises, mentors, and leads part-time staff and children • Assists with hiring, developing, and training of Primetime Preschool and Camp Clarita staff • Leads informative parent meetings regarding specific program goals and objectives • Effectively addresses issues and concerns with children and parents as they arise • Assists staff with preparing program specific materials when needed • Accurately maintains various records, forms, logs, and reports and follows the City’s retention policy • Provides customer service via phone and in-person in regard to information about City programs and procedures • Assists with planning and working special events at various locations • Evaluates and makes recommendations for program changes or enhancements • Assists in organization, set-up, and clean-up of facilities • Purchases, tracks inventory and organizes program supplies

Requirements / Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent • Two years paid experience in preschool and/or child care programs with at least one year in a supervisor/teacher role • Completion of at least 12 units of Early Childhood Education (ECE) • A valid Class C California driver license or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation to carry out job-related functions • Possession of, or ability to obtain, Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED/First Aid within one month of hire
