Job Summary
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, assist in providing art and related programs for students receiving special education services, leading groups of students in diverse artistic activities, including music, dance, craft art, basic photography, drawing, painting, and basic culinary arts while accommodating for the individual needs and abilities of students.
Requirements / Qualifications
Complete Edjoin Application EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: 1. High School Diploma or California High School Equivalent Certificate 2. Two years’ experience, paid or voluntary, working with children/individuals with disabilities; and ONE of the following: • Associate’s degree or higher (unofficial transcripts at time of application) • At least 48 college units (unofficial transcripts at time of application) • Para Educator Proficiency Certificate (Internal Applicants ONLY) • Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) certificate (qualified applicants may be invited to test) ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS: The following documents are not required at the time of application but will be required of the selected applicant prior to employment. • DOJ Background Check • TB Clearance • Pre-Employment Drug Screen • Pre-Employment Lift Test • DMV Pull • Employee must arrange their own transportation. If using own vehicle in the course of employment must have proof of insurance. • Complete approved SCOE Crisis Intervention Program within six (6) months of employment and maintain valid certification.
