Job Summary
The Walnut Creek School District is accepting applications for a middle school Theatre Arts/Drama teacher. The ideal candidate will have a deep appreciation for theatre and a strong commitment to nurturing students' creativity and talent. As a Theatre Arts Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching a range of theatre classes, directing productions, and inspiring students to explore and excel in the dramatic arts. Applicants should be able to instruct students on the fundamentals of theatre techniques, improvisation, voice projection, and stage presence while fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity, collaboration, and respect for others. Must be able to organize and direct school theatre productions, including selecting plays, casting roles, coordinating rehearsals, and managing technical aspects such as lighting, sound, and set design.

Certificated Ed Join Application Must hold Single Subject Theater Arts Credential or Subject Matter Authorization in Music with EL Authorization or Equivalent Out of State Teaching Credential or Multiple Subject Credential. Original transcripts required upon hire

We operate five K-5 neighborhood elementary schools (three with TK), one K-8 school, and one 6-8 intermediate school. Grades TK-5 are primarily self-contained, while grades 6-8 offer a mixture of core and elective classes.
