Job Summary

Job Summary

The Director of School Communications is responsible for all school communications, including developing effective messaging and communication processes and strategies. This person will work with all school stakeholders to direct school communications and with all forms of media, including press releases and digital campaigns, print materials, social media, audio and video and more.

Requirements / Qualifications

Minimum Skills/Qualifications: * Outstanding written and verbal communication skills as well as problem-solving capabilities. * Analytical skills to solve problems and find the best way to convey a message. * Organizational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize projects while working on a deadline and in a fast-paced environment. * Varied leadership experiences are required. * Three to five years of experience in a communications, public relations, or marketing role. * A bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, English or a related field. Who You Are: * A practicing Catholic with a clear and knowledgeable understanding of the Catholic faith. * Deep commitment to the development of his/her faith. * Understanding and dedication to the ministry of Catholic education.

What You Will Do: * External Communications & Public Relations: * Develop and implement school-wide communication strategies across all platforms, including Schoology, social media, websites, email and mobile apps. * Ensure all publications and communications positively represent Cathedral Catholic High School. * Create and distribute all email communications, including weekly newsletters to community members. * Develop and execute a strategic communications plan to enhance brand awareness and drive school interest. * Grow media presence by cultivating relationships with journalists and influencers, pitching compelling stories and monitoring media coverage. * Develop, edit and produce school publications, including story development, writer coordination, editing, proofreading, design and print production. * Oversee content creation for social media and monitor school social media accounts. * Capture and distribute photos from school events and activities for various platforms. * Develop and maintain standard talking points for recurrent topics and emerging matters. * Draft articles, presentations and speeches for school leadership as needed. * Evaluate and identify external events for sponsorship or participation to reach key audiences. * Manage the Cathedral Catholic websites (main and athletics), ensuring brand consistency, updated content, and public relations alignment. * Oversee school marketing and branding, including promotions, advertisements, and design efforts. * Manage relationships with media outlets and oversee public relations strategies. * Internal Communication & Community Engagement: * Develop and implement internal communication strategies to ensure alignment among faculty, staff, students and parents. * Act as a liaison between administration and the school community to streamline messaging. * Facilitate clear and consistent communication of school policies, announcements and initiatives to faculty and staff. * Support school leadership in crafting internal messaging for community updates, strategic initiatives, and organizational changes. * Oversee messaging and coordination for internal events, faculty meetings and student initiatives. * Collaborate with school leadership, faculty and student organizations to ensure a unified voice in internal communications. * Leadership & Oversight: * Supervise and direct the Coordinator of Sports Information, Content Specialist and Videographer/Graphic Designer. * Ensure all communication efforts align with the school’s Catholic mission and values. * Track and analyze key performance metrics for communication efforts, including engagement, website traffic and social media analytics. * Oversee the budget and manage vendor relationships related to communication and marketing. * Attend school events after school hours and on weekends as needed. Start Date: No later than July 1, 2025.
