Job Summary
Job Summary
The Nevada County Superintendent of Schools (NCSOS) will host employment and benefits for the Community Engagement Specialist through June 30, 2025. On July 1, 2025, the position will transition to Community Roots School Food JPA, with benefits adjusting accordingly. Join Community Roots School Food Services Agency as our Community Engagement Specialist and be the voice connecting schools, families, and local partners to nutritious, locally sourced meals. In this role, you’ll lead outreach efforts, build meaningful relationships, and drive awareness of our mission to nourish students and empower communities. If you’re passionate about food equity, community collaboration, and storytelling, we want you to help shape the future of school food in Nevada County!
Requirements / Qualifications
Education and Experience: A combination of training and experience, which would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities, may be qualifying. We reserve the right to determine if a candidate meets the qualifications. *Bachelor’s degree in community development, public health, agriculture, education, communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience. *Minimum of two years of experience in community engagement, program coordination, farm-to-school initiatives, or a related field. *Experience in grant writing and fund development is required.
