MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: The part day teacher/director applies broad professional knowledge to create a safe social emotional and cognitive learning environment Ensures effective classroom organization and program quality Acts as a child and family advocate Promotes a courteous, respectful social emotional environment while orienting, supervising, training, and evaluating staff. Complying with the California State Preschool Standards, Title XXII and/or Title V regulations, as applicable. Coordinating and collaborating with special education teacher and aide Co-teaching and lesson planning with the special education teacher Creating an environment that provides emotional security and social competency. Providing a daily balance between child-initiated and adultdirected activities, which include individual and small group activities. Providing sufficient time indoors and out for large and small motor skills development. Implementing activities which promote observation, exploration, experimentation, inquiry and play while ensuring creative selfexpression. Implementing activities that build trust and social emotional security while promoting physical and cognitive growth, as well as, language, literacy and numeracy. Assist in facilitating the screening(s) in children’s home language to determine possible educational, health, developmental, and behavioral risk factors using information from screenings, assessments, parent input, and child observations to determine the best response to meet each child's individual needs.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION: Education: Baccalaureate (BA) in Early Childhood Education or related degree or an associate degree and actively working towards a Baccalaureate degree. Experience: Two years of adult supervisory experience in a childcare and/or preschool setting.
