Job Summary
Wasco Union High School District is seeking qualified applicants for the position of School Secretary in the Athletics Department. The position is full time, eight hours per day, twelve months per year, and five days per week. Exceptional Benefits Package: Full Health, dental, vision, prescription and life insurance are provided by the District with no employee contribution for individual and family. The salary range is $ 3,784.53-$4,777.35 per month.
Requirements / Qualifications
Under direction of the principal, perform a wide variety of secretarial and general clerical work, and to do related work as required. May perform a variety of secretarial and clerical duties for assigned administrator or administrators; take and transcribe dictation either for administrator or meetings; interviews office visitors, telephone callers and either answers questions concerning the school's courses, activities or programs or refers persons to another source of information, or schedules an appointment with the administrator. Types letters, reports, bulletins, memoranda, and other documents; composes independently or from oral instructions, letters requesting or giving the information or letters dealing with routine school activities; receives, opens, and routes mail; helps make arrangements for, and coordinates, school and community activities held at the school; relieves the administrator of clerical details, prepares attendance and registration records for the administrator, and prepares other reports as necessary. Operates office machines and may supervise clerical help.
• Office methods and practices, including filing systems, receptionist and telephone techniques • Letter and report writing; English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation • office machines and their operation • Computer knowledge is required • Perform secretarial and responsible clerical work with accuracy and speed • prepare reports and maintain records • Make arithmetical calculations with speed and accuracy • Understand and carry out oral and written directions • Meet the public tactfully and courteously in situations requiring diplomacy, friendliness and firmness • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, parents, counselors, co-workers and the general public • Performs related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
