Job Summary
Under general supervision of the Principal, the Substitute Teacher educates students in various subjects, following lesson plans left by the regular teacher or as directed by the school administration. The Substitute Teacher is also responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, and assessing classroom instruction. This includes using the school-adopted curriculum and the provided scope and sequence of instruction that serves all students with a focus on multi-subject instruction and cultural awareness. Depending on the length of assignment, this may also involve designing lesson plans, planning activities, and maintaining gradebook data. The Substitute Teacher must promote an understanding of the school rules and the United Auburn Indian Community’s cultural heritage and values. This position must routinely use tact, professionalism, and good judgment while interacting with students, staff, parents, committees, and organizations.
