About the Employer

Oak Grove School District has a total student enrollment of approximately 8,690 from grades TK-8. There are 15 elementary schools and 3 intermediate schools. Six out of seventeen schools receive Title I funds. Schools range from the highest student enrollment (730) to the lowest student enrollment (269). The percentage of English Learners is 29% representing 56 languages spoken in the district. Oak Grove School District’s focus is driven by the LCAP (Local Control Accountability Plan) and school site-specific SPSA (Single Plan for Student Achievement) which identifies short, intermediate, and long-term goals. First and foremost in all activities is the safety of students as well as student success in the areas of math and reading/language arts interwoven with science, social studies and visual and performing arts. Student performance goals have been integrated into the state and federal accountability systems. Annually, the LCAP and SPSA's are updated with our students, staff and various community groups in keeping with our core values, the vision, and the annual goals. The District is located in the southeastern corner of San Jose, California bounded by Capitol Expressway to the north, Canoas Creek to the west, Bernal Road to the south and the foothills to the east. Requirements / Qualifications

Five (5) or more year’s computer and related equipment experience in various computing platforms and network environments or two (2) years of college level coursework in computer science and related experience in various computing platforms, and network environments. Possession of a valid California driver’s license. Ability to organize work and set priorities for accomplishing work in a timely and effective manner. Ability to operate, maintain and adjust computers and related peripheral equipment. Ability to install and configure and network computer equipment. Ability to test, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair various hardware and software problems. Comptia A+ certification, Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) certification, or knowledge of various computing platforms, including, Windows, Macintosh, ChromeOS, iOS, Android. Cisco Certified Technician (CCT) certification, Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) certification, or knowledge of various networking topology and protocols, including, switches, routers, servers, wireless access points. Knowledge of proper methods of storing equipment, materials and supplies. Knowledge of preventative maintenance techniques. Skill to maintain accurate records, inventories and files related to assigned duties. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others in the performance of required duties

FINGERPRINTS All newly hired employees shall be fingerprinted at the applicant’s expense. No employee shall be allowed to work or be paid unless fingerprints have been cleared through the Department of Justice and the Human Resources Department. TUBERCULOSIS EXAMINATION Newly hired classified employees are required to submit evidence of either a skin or Chest X-ray report of being free of tuberculosis, at applicants own expense. Current employees must submit evidence every four (4) years ) at District’s expense.
