Under the direction of the principal, and in accordance with the policies, rules, and regulations established by the Board of Trustees, the teacher shall be responsible for the execution of the following duties and responsibilities. 1. provide the instructional program for students within the framework of objectives and goals mutually developed by the; 2. teacher and principal and within the framework of the State mandated programs. 3. Providing an environment conducive to good instruction and motivation in which there is an atmosphere of self-acceptance and self-discipline in the areas of personal development, character, and integrity. 4. Endeavoring to achieve professional growth through ongoing development of skills and utilizing new and accepted methods of instruction and materials. 5. Evaluating pupils' academic and social growth, reporting progress to parents, and keeping adequate records in accordance with district and individual school policies. 6. Establishing standards of behavior which are consistent, considerate, fair, and in keeping with the district policy. 7. Attempting to identify pupils with health, attitude, or learning problems and working with other professionals to assist pupils in establishing goals to eliminate such problems. 8. Performing or supervising other duties as the principal assigns, such as: a. supervising both in and out of the classroom during the work day; b. administering group tests in accordance with district testing programs; c. participating in curriculum and other developmental programs within the school or at the district level; d. sharing in the and supervision of student activities and participating on faculty committees; and e. planning and coordinating the work of aides, teacher assistants, and other para professionals.
