Job Summary
ACOE Division of Student Programs and Services provides alternative educational options through court, community, and charter school programs for special populations of students across Alameda County. ACOE Teachers have opportunities throughout their career at ACOE to work in various settings within our portfolio of school programs. Our Teachers often teach in self-contained settings that require multiple or all subjects to be taught. ACOE will provide support for Teachers to earn ERWC Certification in order to teach our board adopted ELA curriculum. Teachers within the Juvenile Court School system are one of the primary service providers of the educational program for youth who are wards or dependents of the Juvenile Court. The teacher at Butler Academic Center will instruct students in the Alameda County Juvenile Justice Center with an on-site school program. The Alameda County Office of Education through its Juvenile Court School program works in cooperation with the Alameda County Probation Department to serve students who are detained in this facility that is under the direction of the Department of Probation. Requirements / Qualifications
• Valid clear California Education Specialist Instruction Credential (required) • Valid clear California Single or Multiple Subject Teaching Credential (preferred) • CTE credential required or willing to obtain CTE • Will teach ELA/SS/Math/Science/CTE • CPR and First Aid certificate required • Valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, and an acceptable driving record (required)
