ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: * Implementation of evidence-based practices and data collection/maintenance to assist instructional personnel with the planning, organization, and implementation of learning materials. Assist students by providing instructional support, and health care activities in small group, large group or 1 to 1 activities for the purpose of meeting learning/behavior goals, as described by an IEP/504/health plans/behavior plans and/or district benchmarks. * Monitor and assist students with learning needs in drill, practice, and study activities as a follow up to the presentation of instructional lessons by instructional personnel. * Assist the teacher in instructional related functions and work directly with the students who may require intense behavior intervention. * Adapt classroom activities, assignments and/or materials (e.g. communication boards, computers, Braille machine, etc.) for the purpose of providing an opportunity for all students with disabilities to participate in classroom activities. * Apply specialized techniques such as behavior intervention level systems, structured teaching, picture communications, large print materials, mobility training, Brailling, and all types of assistive technology including assistive and augmentative communication systems as required. * Take direction and guidance from teachers, Program Specialists, School Psychologist, and other credentialed staff as appropriate for the purpose of assisting in evaluating progress, implementing IEP objectives, and identifying resources as well as to implement necessary accommodations and/or modifications needed by individual students in the special education and/or general education setting. * Maintain confidentiality of sensitive and privileged information in accordance with district, state, and federal mandates and other specifi c legal requirements or policies. * Assist students with daily self care needs(e.g. lifts/positions students, braces/o
