The Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) serves some of Orange County’s most vulnerable student populations and provides support and mandated fiscal oversight to 28 school districts serving more than 600 schools and approximately 475,000 students. In addition to providing direct instruction to students through its own alternative and special education programs, OCDE administers an array of programs and services that are critical to the operations of local school districts and community colleges, facilitating professional development, legal guidance, payroll, career and technical education support, high-speed internet access, Local Control and Accountability Plan assistance and approval, resources for families, and student enrichment. OCDE is looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join us as a Program Data Technician. The chosen candidate will play a crucial role in collecting, analyzing, and reporting data collected from early learning programs. Essential functions of this position include participant information, program quality ratings and transcript management. This candidate will also play a critical role in supporting agency staff and participants with training, resources, and one-on-one technical support. The Program Data Technician will be responsible for independently generating and validating reports for program administrators, educational partners, and State agencies. They will continuously monitor educational data across various systems to assess program effectiveness. Our ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams, strong organizational abilities, initiative, adherence to deadlines, and sound independent judgment. We are also seeking a candidate with experience with information systems software and data management skills. Requirements / Qualifications
Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: * Three (3) years of increasingly responsible office administrative experience, at least two of which involved the maintenance of student/participant records utilizing a computerized information system and database management * Completion of coursework on database, spreadsheet, and other software applications is highly desirable. * Graduation from high school or high school equivalency test.
