Mayacamas Countywide Middle School (“MCMS”) is a 6-8th grade public charter middle school that will build on the strength of the proven New Tech Network Project-Based Learning Model while utilizing best-in-class curricular elements to meet the growing needs of Napa’s diverse community of families. This position offers the unique opportunity to build and shape a vibrant music program that goes beyond traditional classroom settings, encouraging student engagement through contemporary music styles and hands-on learning experiences. THIS ROLE IS SCHEDULED TO TEACH TWO MODERN MUSIC CLASSES DURING THE SCHOOL DAY, WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO ADD AN ADDITIONAL CLASS AND A MUSIC-FOCUSED AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM Key Responsibilities: Curriculum Development: Design and implement a diverse music curriculum that includes traditional music education as well as non-traditional offerings such as rock band-style classes, modern music genres, and music technology. Classroom Instruction: Teach middle school music classes in a way that fosters creativity, collaboration, and a love for music among students. Encourage student participation in non-traditional settings, including group performances, solo work, and small ensembles.
