Job Summary
Job Summary
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and financial statement preparation. Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in a timely manner. Prepare and analyze financial reports, identifying trends and discrepancies. Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting. Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies. Support external audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and reporting. Assist in payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements as needed. Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer.
Requirements / Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in an education or nonprofit setting. Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Proficiency in accounting software QuickBooks (or similar) and Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
