Requirements / Qualifications
HR ASSISTANT POSITION IS FUNDED THROUGH THE EXPANDED LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION INCLUDE: • Graduation from high school or its equivalent and two years of responsible office administrative experience, preferably in human resources, including familiarity with recruiting practices; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. • Valid Class C CA driver license and the ability to maintain insurability under the District’s Vehicle Insurance Policy. • Knowledge of basic practices and techniques of human resources administration, including recruitment and selection programs, and public personnel administration. • Knowledge of correct English usage, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation. • Knowledge of District personnel rules, policies and labor contract provisions. • Knowledge of record keeping and filing practices and procedures. • Ability to organize, set priorities, and maintain specialized human resources records. • Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive and confidential personnel information. • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those encountered in the course of work. • Ability to operate a computer and use word processing and spreadsheet software, and other standard office equipment; ability to type 45 words per minute. • Ability to prepare clear, concise and accurate reports, correspondence and other written materials.
