Vista High School is seeking a Head Cheerleading Coach for the 2025-2026 school year.
The school is a comprehensive high school of nearly 1,800 students located six miles from the coast in beautiful north San Diego County.
The school's athletic program has a long history of success and is hoping to continue its performance in Cheerleading.
Roles and Responsibilities
Select/train coaches for all programs
Parent communication, meetings
Create team member contracts
Run tryouts for all levels
Organize fundraisers, maintain finances with Team Foundation and ASB
Order uniforms, organize orders, handout uniforms & maintain loaner uniforms
Schedule all practices (Summer and/or outside practices)
Schedule all competitions and travel
Choreograph routines and order music
Attend athletic events (football/basketball games etc.)
Communication with all other organizations (boosters) on campus for support
Participate in school pep rallies
Hold tryouts for each season (Fall sideline, Winter competitive, Spring Stunt)
Participate in CIF Traditional Championships and San Diego Section STUNT
The position requires the following qualifications for Head :Cheerleading Coach
* At least 2 years experience in coaching cheerleading at the high school, All Star, or club level and/or recent college level cheer experience (within the last 2 years).
* Knowledge of, and ability to safely instruct, all elements of cheer, abide by NFHS stunting rules, and obtain appropriate certifications.
* The ability to establish and maintain a competitive tradition in a climate that supports student success with high student expectations.
* The desire and ability to compete with area high schools in CIF competitions including traditional competitive cheer and STUNT.
* A willingness to support programs as asked to increase school spirit and promote school culture.
