Job Summary
Job Summary
Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, and social and cognitive communication disorders; Provide treatment for speech, language, and social and cognitive communication disorders; Provide aural rehabilitation for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing; Provide augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems for individuals with severe expressive and/or language comprehension disorders, such as autism spectrum disorder or progressive neurological disorders; Provide training and education to family/caregivers and other professionals; Work collaboratively with professionals from many other disciplines; Train and supervise support personnel; Prepare information for and consult with regular education/special education staff to assist in serving students identified as requiring speech and language remediation/services in the regular classroom setting; Compile records and reporting as directed by the Principal or the Director of Special Education, to include monthly caseload reports, and MIS data input; Attend Special Education staff and in-service meetings as appropriate; Establish relevant, verifiable goals and objectives, based on annual assessments; Schedule and attend IEP meetings; Maintain confidential student records. The candidate hired for this position will work with all grade levels, preschool through age 22, supporting both District and SELPA programs.
Requirements / Qualifications
One (1) of the following options MUST be met: A) Possession of a valid California Credential authorizing Speech & Language Services. B) A Master’s degree in communicative disorders, plus a valid license issued by the Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board and passage of CBEST. 1) Completed Edjoin application 2) Letter of application 3) Resume 4) A minimum of three (3) current letters of recommendation. (one letter must be from a current supervisor) 5) Copy of your credential (one that reflects the eff/exp date and document number) or a copy of your valid license issued by the Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board 6) Transcripts - BA and beyond. 7) CBEST or BSR equiv as allowed by CTC
