Job Summary

The Secondary Counselor assigned to the College & Career Program is responsible for coordinating and implementing a comprehensive college counseling program which includes conducting individual student and parent conferences regarding post-secondary planning process for high school students, grade and/or topic specific classroom guidance workshops and evening programs; outreach to traditionally underrepresented students; acting as a liaison for test preparation opportunities, scholarships and financial aid; and building positive relationships. This includes the scheduling, coordination, publicizing, and preparation for all college and career related events. In addition to the College & Career Program, this counselor will maintain a small student caseload and will collaborate with staff, administrators, students, community resources and parents to promote student success in the areas of academic, career, and personal/social development (American School Counseling Association-ASCA Standards).

SELECTION PROCESS All materials related to applications must be received online through Edjoin no later than 4:00 p.m. on March 21, 2025, or upon receipt of 75 applications, whichever happens first. Applications will be reviewed by a screening committee, and the most qualified applicants will be invited to interview. Initial interviews are tentatively scheduled for March 28, 2025. Second-round interview Candidates will be tentatively scheduled for April 1, 2025. A third-round interview is tentatively scheduled for April 9, 2025.
