Job Summary
MYP / DP Teacher Responsibilities • Implements instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences. • Provides a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process. • Ensures that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and/or grade level. • Modifies instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs (in consultation with Program Coordinator, Special Education teacher, Administrators and/or Head of School where appropriate). • Maintains effective and efficient record keeping procedures. • Uses ManageBac in accordance with school policy. • Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis. • Models professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community. • Participates in International Baccalaureate and other training identified as important by Stockton Collegiate International Schools. • Stays current with curricular developments and adjustments in the IB courses of study and assessments. • Meets professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating and collaborating with colleagues. • Attends staff meetings, parent/teacher conference days, meetings with coordinators, and training dates as outlined in the school calendar. • Fulfills responsibilities within the physical parameters of the Stockton Collegiate classrooms and buildings, including walking between buildings, utilizing stairs in multi-story buildings, and walking several city blocks on a regular basis, with appropriate modifications as necessary and agreed upon by both Stockton Collegiate and the employee in advance. • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
