Job Summary
Under the direction of the Senior Manager, State Preschool, the State Preschool Teacher, Arts Enrichment will assist teachers in developing and implementing arts-based instructional strategies that enhance learning and engagement. The teacher supports students in exploring their creativity through various art forms and provides guidance and strategies to staff on how to effectively integrate arts into the classrooms. They share best practices and innovative approaches to arts enrichment. They partner with parents to create a supportive and enriching environment for students and incorporate visual and performing arts from The Creative Curriculum for Preschool that is accessible and inclusive for all students. They manage and maintain art supplies and resources and ensure that classrooms are equipped with the necessary materials to support arts-based learning.
Requirements / Qualifications
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS • Provides demonstrations on lessons incorporating arts enrichment into the preschool curriculum and from the California Preschool/Transitional Kindergarten Learning Foundations (CA PTKLF), Visual and Performance Arts domain; • Develops and distributes classroom resources to promote arts integration; • Travels to various locations regularly to assist staff with arts-based instructional strategies to enhance student achievement; • Provides guidance and strategies on arts enrichment for teachers, staff, and parents; • Develops and maintains effective relationships with school staff; • Recommends strategies to meet the diverse needs of all students; • Maintains data to monitor achievement trends and program effectiveness; • Perform other related duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Possession of a valid California Child Development Site Supervisor Permit or higher; • Minimum of three (3) years of experience teaching in a preschool or infant/toddler classroom setting; • Valid Driver’s License for California and use of personal transportation required. (SBCSS vehicle not provided) Please note: If selected, the applicant must provide a copy of a valid California Driver’s License during the new hire orientation process.
