POSITION DESCRIPTION: The job of Assistant Superintendent, Student Programs and Services is done for the purpose of directing the overall activities and operations of the Special Education, Alternative Education, Career Technical Education within the Division of Student Programs and Services; conducting administrative oversight of all programs and functions within the division; providing consultative, and advisory services in the essential components of Special and Alternative Education instruction; developing and monitoring a large multi-faceted budget; and supervising and managing staff at multiple sites. This is designated as a certificated management position, and is part of the Management Leadership Team.

Requirements / Qualifications

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching experience, and at least five (5) years of administrative experience, which would demonstrate exposure and utilization of required skills, knowledge and abilities in performing job-related duties and responsibilities related to the Special Education, Alternative Education, and Career Technical Education programs are required. Kind/type of experience as related to described duties and responsibilities will be considered. You must provide evidence of required experience with your application materials. EDUCATION: • Master's degree from an accredited college/university in Educational Administration, Special Education, or closely related field is required. • Doctorate degree from an accredited college/university is preferred. CERTIFICATES/CREDENTIALS/LICENSES: • Possession of a valid California Teaching Credential and Administrative Credential appropriate for K-12 public school administration is required. • Valid California Driver’s license You must provide copies of permit/credential as required for position or provide evidence of qualifying for required permit/credential with your application materials to qualify for the position.
