Substitute Teacher for all public school districts within Tuolumne County.
Requirements / Qualifications
To begin the process, interested candidates must complete an EdJoin application. Once the application is complete, applicants will receive a link to a checklist outlining the required documents and next steps. Requirements:
- A valid California teaching credential or a 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit.
- Applicants without a permit may still apply but must have a bachelor’s degree and will be required to obtain a permit. Our office can assist with the permit application process.
- If an applicant does not hold a valid California teaching credential, they must complete an interview as part of the screening process.
The timeline for hiring varies depending on how quickly applicants submit required documents and how long it takes the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) to process applications.
Applicants who have held a teaching position may experience a longer processing time due to AB 2534, which requires verification from prior employers regarding any egregious misconduct required to be reported to CTC in accordance with Ed Code 44939.5.
