Under the direction of the Executive Director of Alternative Education, the Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA), Alternative Education – Innovation and Technology will provide in-class coaching and professional development to teachers in Alternative Education settings, focusing on integrating technology to transform learning experiences to create highly engaging classrooms/school environments. This position supports educators in 21st century learning environments by utilizing pedagogical frameworks devoted to active learning and leveraging emerging technology as support.
Requirements / Qualifications
EXPERIENCE: • A minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience in K-12 education. Teaching experience in Alternative Education desired. • Proven experience as both an educator and leader at the K-12 level, with a focus on instructional design and coaching. • Experience in integrating technology to transform learning environments. • Experience with Project Based Learning or Challenged Based Learning methodologies. • Possess an understanding of emerging technologies (e.g., Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Reality, Spatial Computing, Virtual Reality) EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College/University is required. Master’s Degree is desirable. CREDENTIALS: • Possession of a valid California Teaching Credential. • EL Certification or equivalent such as CLAD, BCLAD, or SDAIE is required. • Valid California Driver’s License may be required. You must provide copies of credential(s) as required for the position with your application to qualify for the position.
