Job No. 546213 Executive Director for Civil Rights & Compliance CLASSIFICATION TITLE: Administrator II UNION CODE: M80 The Executive Director for Civil Rights and Compliance, under administrative direction of the Vice President of People and Culture, provides strategic leadership and direction in fostering a diverse, inclusive, and equitable campus environment. The Executive Director ensures university compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to Title IX, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Discrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation (DHR), and other relevant laws and oversees investigations of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. The Executive Director develops and implements policies and training programs and collaborates with campus stakeholders to promote a culture of equity, inclusion, and compliance. In addition, the Executive Director serves as the Title IX Coordinator: DHR Administrator, ADA/Section 504 Compliance Officer, and Clery Director. This role is pivotal in advancing CSUB's commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion, thereby supporting the academic and social success of the university community.
Requirements / Qualifications
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE - Equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Higher Education Administration, Human Resources, Law, Public Administration, Social Sciences, or related discipline and six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in equity and inclusion, compliance, human resources, legal affairs, or related field, including at least two (2) years of experience supervising or leading other staff.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Juris Doctor (JD) strongly preferred • Experience in a collective bargaining environment in a university setting. • Knowledge of CSU/California EEO policies, procedures, and regulations. • Demonstrated skills in an institutional/educational environment possessing a customer-oriented and service-centered attitude. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: SEDENTARY WORK - involves mainly sitting; minimal walking and standing; lifting light weight objects limited to 15 pounds.
