POSITION DESCRIPTION: Riverside County Office of Education offers a series of opportunities and on-job training across a number of professional sectors within the organization such as the Office of the Riverside County Superintendent of Schools (ORCSS) Administrative and Business Services; Educational Services, Early Education Services, Governmental Relations, Information Technology Services, Personnel Services, and Student Programs & Services. RCOE provides a supportive environment to assist selected students in maximizing their abilities and opportunities as they explore their career options. In this setting, each Student Intern will rotate throughout various sectors, not to exceed one school year, in collaboration with business leaders and staff in the field. The Intern, ORCSS shall be a current college student and will serve as a temporary part-time hourly employee as defined in Education Code 45103 (a) (3) and shall not be a part of the classified service. It is the intent of RCOE to employ college/university undergraduate and/or graduate students to fill these positions. The Intern, ORCSS student intern works closely with the Office of the Riverside County Superintendent of Schools staff and various unit supervisors. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: None required. Prior work experience is desirable. REQUIRED EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent. Must be currently enrolled and remain enrolled in a regionally accredited college/university in order to be eligible for the position. Continuous enrollment in at least 6 college units is required. Transcripts or semester/quarter schedules indicating enrollment in an accredited college or university program and required units must be provided each semester/quarter. If not enrolled during summer school, transcripts from the previous Spring semester/quarter and a semester/quarter schedules for the Fall semester/quarter indicating enrollment in an accredited college or university program must be provided.
