Job Summary
The School Counselor Program Specialist will provide leadership and coordination of a comprehensive, data driven, school counseling program aligned with the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) professional standards and competencies, mindset and behaviors along with the ASCA ethical standards for school counselors. The School Counselor Program Specialist will provide guidance, coaching support to all local school counselors and mentorship to new school counselors within the department. The school counselor program specialist position will encourage and facilitate the use of student data to drive decision making within the local school counseling department along with organizing a yearly review of the local school counseling program. This position reports to the Area Superintendent or designee.

The selected candidate will support 6 campuses' in the greater Los Angeles area including our Los Angeles, East Los Angeles, Watts, Gardena, Lincoln, and Inglewood campuses.

How You Will Make an Impact

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters Degree in School Counseling required
Valid California Pupil Personnel Services Credential required, authorization in School Counseling
2 years of successful, full-time employment in assignment (s) requiring a Standard Pupil Services Credential authorizing service in school counseling required
Leadership experience performing School Counseling duties in a school environment preferred
Experience with Charter schools and Independent Study settings preferred
Proficient in using student information data systems and educational applications
Skilled in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
Able to travel in performance of job duties is required
Able to lift, carry, push, pull objects weighing up to 10 pounds of force (almost all office jobs) occasionally
