Job Summary
This is for a full time classroom teaching position at a small K-8 urban charter school located in the heart of National City. We have a tight community with small class sizes with two classes at each grade level. We currently have a split campus with the primary grades located at one campus and the upper elementary and middle grades located a few blocks away. We are in the process of building a brand new campus projected to open in the 2026-2027 school year.

Classroom Teacher – Grade K-8

Integrity Charter School’s mission is to provide educational choice to parents of children in grades K-8 in National City, CA and the neighboring area. Integrity Charter School will equip students with strong skills in reading, writing, and mathematics as well as the skills necessary to become caring, courteous, responsible, respectful, and civic-minded adults. By providing a small school environment and through partnerships with the home and community, Integrity Charter School will enable students to be successful leaders of their family, school, and community.
Classroom Expectations:
• Establish and enforce classroom rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom they are responsible.
• Observe and evaluate students' academic performance, behavior, social development, and physical health on a regular basis.
• Prepare units, lessons and materials and for class activities.
• Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
• Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
• Instruct students individually and in groups, using various pedagogical methods to meet student needs.
• Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate those objectives to students.
• Assign and grade class work and homework.
• Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments in order to evaluate students' progress.
• Confer with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators to discuss students’ behavior and academics.
• Create specific year long goals for each student and maintain evidence of progress through student work portfolios.
• Use GLAD strategies and all curricular programs implemented in the school.
• Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, school policies, and administrative regulations.
• Create a year-long plan for your grade level incorporating all California State Frameworks and Content Standards.
• Foster character education through books, class meetings and incorporate them in lessons and by example.
• Prepare and implement remedial programs for students requiring extra help before, during or after school.
• Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate and use, both in learning activities and in imaginative play.
• Enforce administration policies and rules governing students.
• Use computers, audiovisual aids, and other technologies to enhance instruction.
• Prepare for assigned classes, and have lesson plans available upon request of administration.
• Input student performance data every trimester as required by administration.
• Organize and lead activities designed to promote physical education.
• Plan and supervise class projects, field trips, visits by guest speakers or other experiential activities, and guide students in learning from those activities.
• Organize and label materials, and display students' work.
• Administer standardized ability and achievement tests, and interpret results to determine student strengths and areas of need in order to guide instruction.
School wide Expectations
• Sponsor extracurricular activities such as clubs, student organizations, and academic contests.
• Maintain an open door policy in order to strengthen school/community ties.
• Confer with other staff members to plan and schedule lessons promoting learning, following approved curricula.
• Collaborate with other teachers and administrators in the development, evaluation, and revision of school programs.
• Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional competence.
• Attend staff meetings, serve on committees and participate in family night events after hours as required.
• Monitor students during recess and morning and afternoon duty.
• Select, store, and inventory classroom equipment, materials, and supplies.
