Job Description San Diego Cooperative Charter School (SDCCS) seeks a dynamic, equity-driven, student-centered Vice Principal to support our progressive, constructivist learning environment. The Vice Principal will work closely with the Principal, staff, students, and families to foster a collaborative and inclusive school culture while ensuring high academic standards and social-emotional well-being. Key Responsibilities: Instructional Leadership: Support teachers in implementing SDCCS’s constructivist, developmental approach to education; provide coaching and professional development aligned with best practices in progressive education. School Culture & Climate: Promote an inclusive, community-centered culture that upholds diversity, equity, and inclusion; ensure a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for students and staff. Student Support: Oversee student behavior and intervention processes, emphasizing restorative practices and student growth; support teachers in implementing differentiated instruction and behavioral supports. Family & Community Engagement: Build strong relationships with families, encourage active participation in the school community, and facilitate communication between school and home. Administrative Operations: Assist in school operations, including scheduling, compliance, assessments, and staff evaluations; collaborate with the Principal to develop and implement school-wide initiatives. Staff Supervision & Development: Mentor and support educators, participate in hiring processes, and contribute to a positive and collaborative staff culture. Collaboration with Stakeholders: Engage with staff, students, families, and the Board of Directors to advance the mission and vision of SDCCS. Qualifications: Master’s degree in education, educational leadership, or a related field preferred. Administrative credential (or eligibility to obtain one) preferred. Minimum five years of experience in education

Vice-Principal Position
San Diego Cooperative Charter Schools are progressive, child-centered schools. Our schools are great places for kids to learn and for adults to work. At this time we are seeking applicants who are enthusiastic, progressive, and child-centered to fulfill a 1-year vice-principal position at our Linda Vista Campus.
Ideal candidates will have experience at both the classroom and administrative level in a K-8 setting. Charter school experience is preferred, but not required.
All administrators at SDCCS shall exhibit the following leadership traits:
- Is accessible to all in the community including teachers, staff, parents, and children.
- Acts with fairness, integrity, and respect for diversity.
- Is knowledgeable of the educational and/or business practices that will fulfill our school’s mission.
- Utilizes all available financial and human resources to maximize student performance.
- Is knowledgeable of laws governing charter schools
The Vice-Principal will work under the direct supervision of the Principal/CEO . The Vice-Principal will be expected to function as the Principal On-Duty during periods when the CEO/Principal is off campus. The Vice-Principal will conduct regular classroom visits and will work with the CEO/Principal to evaluate certificated staff members.
For the 2019-2020 the Vice-Principal will be working as part of the administrative team and will be responsible for the following:
