Job Description / Essential Elements
PRIMARY PURPOSE: Teach students about the techniques and history of a second language and help students discover the value and joy of personal expression to a diverse student body in a Catholic faith-based school. The full-time position requires the teacher to provide rigorous instruction based on language standards – reading, writing, and speaking appropriately for 5th thru 8th grades.

QUALIFICATIONS: •Must love working with students, have a passion for teaching all aspects of the language, and work collaboratively as part of a team of teachers. • Ability to teach young thru adolescent students • General knowledge of language curriculum and instruction • Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior • Strong communications, public relations, and interpersonal skills • Use applications and devices for teaching and learning

Requirements / Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university • Valid teaching credential or enrollment in a teaching program • Experience teaching in a classroom

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: • Develop and implement plans that ae engaging and rigorous instruction based on common core standards, and conversational opportunities. • Can use Google Classroom and integrate textbooks, videos, project-based learning, writing and conversation • Creates and maintains effective environments for student learning and creating. • Use technology in the teaching/learning and grading process. • Present a positive role model and create an environment conducive to learning. • Manage student behavior and administer discipline according to school policies. • Develop trusting and effective relationships and communication with students and their parents. • Establish supportive, collaborative, and positive working relationships with all other members of staff. • Loves working with students and can have fun.
