Director of Emergency Management at Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) Salary Range: $159,787.08 - $199,786.44 annually About the Job: The Office of Emergency Management (OEM) at LAUSD is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the Director of Emergency Management position. The OEM is dedicated to ensuring the preparedness of District employees and students for emergency responses. The Director will oversee the Integrated Safe School Plan system, provide emergency response protocols, and manage initiatives such as the STEPS program and the YOYO 7 campaign. Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in emergency management, public safety, business/public administration, public health, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). Experience: At least five years of experience managing an emergency management unit, including developing and implementing organization-wide plans and trainings. Special Requirements: Successful completion of FEMA courses: IS-100.c, IS-200.c, IS-700.b, and IS-800.d. Certification in emergency management (CEM) or business continuity (CBCP) is preferred. Valid driver’s license for California and ability to travel. Special Notes: Travel within Los Angeles County is required. Availability for off-hours and extended work periods during emergencies.
