Job Summary
Under general supervision, the Prevention Services Facilitator - SCP will help design and implement key prevention services in partnership with local policy-makers, organizations, and districts to benefit school climate and student outcome.
Requirements / Qualifications
Experience: Four (4) years of experience in relevant prevention, positive school climate, social service, behavioral interventions, or community based activities, including direct with school/districts staff and administrators; experience working with at-promise youth and an understanding of the needs of transforming school climate and intervention strategies desired; experience in successful grant writing and grant implementation, contracting oversight and evaluation/data collection activities desired; experience in outreach and marketing (including public relations) and the facilitation of community events; experience in implementing community change utilizing social marketing; experience in facilitating and the coordination of large projects with multiple partners. Education: B.A., B.S. in education, behavioral sciences, communications, social work, social sciences, public administration or related field of study. This position is funded through 2026. Continuation of this position is dependent on MHSSA funding. A scanner to upload required documents is available in the Human Resources office located at 1330 Truxtun Ave., Bakersfield, CA 93301. •The documents will be scanned and emailed to the candidate. •Each candidate’s application papers and answers to the essay questions contained within the application will be thoroughly evaluated and ranked by a screening committee appointed by the Kern County Superintendent of Schools. Candidates achieving a rating of 70% or better will qualify to continue in the eligibility screening process.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Some positions may require proof of privately owned automobile insurance and the possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle operator’s license which must be maintained for the duration of the assignment. Fingerprint clearance by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met. Must present verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training or obtain verification within six (6) weeks of hire and annually thereafter, as required by the California Child Abuse Neglect Reporting Act. This position has a probationary period of six months or 130 days in paid service, whichever is longer.
