Requirements / Qualifications
-Must possess a valid Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification or in lieu of a RID certification, an educational interpreter shall have received a score of 4.0 or above on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA), the Educational Sign Skills Evaluation-Interpreter and Receptive (ESSE-I/R), or the National Association of the Deaf/American Consortium of Certified Interpreters (NAD/ACCI) assessment; a desired experience of interpreting one year in the educational setting. - High School Diploma/equivalent or higher.
Under the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, the law requires that paraprofessionals who assist in classroom instruction must meet the specific educational requirements listed above. Proof of certificates, education, etc. will be required upon recommendation for employment. - Please read "Job Description/Essential Elements" above to review additional required experience for this position.
