Student Nutrition Assistant, Senior. I - Central Kitchen - 103844 at Milpitas Unified School District
Requirements / Qualifications
BASIC FUNCTION: Assumes responsibility for semi-skilled production and service of food duties; assists in the preparation of main dishes and baking; backstops and assists other positions in the cafeteria; may assume the duties of Student Nutrition Assistant Senior II in their absence. ENTRANCE QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination equivalent to: Graduation from high school; safety and sanitation courses recommended. One (1) year food service experience is necessary. Ability to pass the District Proficiency Examination at the level appropriate to the job classification. KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: KNOWLEDGE OF: Safety and sanitation procedure related to food preparation and serving. Care and use of standard food service equipment. Method of quantity food preparation, serving and storage. Cashiering and record keeping. Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy. Proper lifting techniques. ABILITY TO: Compute food quantities required by menu items. Prepare and serve food in accordance with health and sanitation regulations. Wash, cut, slice, grate, mix and assemble food items and ingredients. Apply and explain policies, procedures, rules and regulations. Meet schedules and time lines. Follow oral and/or written instructions. Maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted during the performance of required duties.
