Completing AB 2534 is mandatory for a Substitute Teacher as of January 1, 2025. REGISTRATION AS A SUBSTITUTE TEACHER WITH THE MARIN COUNTY OFFICE OF EDUCATION (MCOE) IS REQUIRED BEFORE APPLYING WITH BSUSD. The District will not accept substitutes not actively registered with MCOE. This process involves: • Live Scan Fingerprinting • TB Test • Mandated Reporter Trainings • A Valid Teaching Credential or Sub Permit Once active status with MCOE is verified and an application has been submitted, the applicant's work history will be verified per AB 2534. When all requirements are completed, you will be notified and added to the District's Master Sub List. Prior to securing your first substitute position within BSUSD, a sub packet with standard tax documents will be provided to process compensation. W-4 DE-4 I-9
