Is able to plan appropriate instructional/learning strategies and activities, including determination of appropriate principles of learning, classroom organizational structures, and kind and level of materials.
? Possess organizational skills with expertise in formulating curriculum.
? Implements an instructional program which provides appropriate learning experiences for each student.
? Manages the behavior of learners in instructional setting to ensure environment is conducive to the learning experiences for each student.
? Utilizes a variety of instructional and art materials to create a variety of learning experiences.
? Ensures ongoing communication with parents, both written and oral, to keep them informed of student(s) progress.
? Assigns work to and supervises instructional assistants and parent volunteers if applicable.
? Ensures that the use of materials is safe, conducive to learning and that materials are prepared, in good condition and assessable to students.
? Communicates with staff and administration regularly.
? Is comfortable building relationships with students, staff, parents and administration.
? Continues to develop as a professional educator and open to working with 21st century pedagogy.
Requirements / Qualifications
• Must have a bachelor’s degree and teaching experience in Art • A valid California elementary or multiple subject teaching credential preferred • Criminal justice fingerprint clearance and TB test clearance.
